SUNY (State University of New York) Cobleskill is located in Cobleskill, New York. The college is a four public college that enrolls about 2,500 students and is located about 40 minutes southwest of Albany. The college offers various Equine Studies Programs and presently has about 75 students who are pursuing an equine related degree. Students can earn either an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a very intimate setting at the Equestrian Center. The every day observation from the Solar & Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) clearly highlights a possible global problem. In 2008, nearly every single day of each of the initial four months of the year has recorded an observation of sunspot activity that is equal to zero. In reality, there have been only two days in the last four months when there has been any sunspot activity at all and each little event disappeared quite swiftly.

The importance of sunspot inactivity is the continued confirmation that Sunspot Cycle 24 will be very weak or even delayed. The most recent solar minimum was in March of last year. The new cycle, No.24, was supposed to begin soon after that, with a predicted gradual construct-up in sunspot numbers. It has not yet happened. History would suggest that the longer the delay in cycle activity, the weaker this sunspot cycle will be.
