BLAST OFF -
The National FFA curriculum offers a premier development
program for state officers to begin their year of service.
BLAST OFF provides training in life management, presentations,
social skills, personal goals and assessment. Students
discover how positive leaders influence others as well
as effective ways for them to influence agriculture education
students. They delve into time management practices, speech
development, and interacting with their new teammates.
The 3 day event is usually held after the state convention
in April at the Department of Education.
National Leadership Conference for State
Officers (NLCSO) -
The second component of the state FFA officer-training
continuum builds on the individual training received
during the initial component (Blast Off). The National
FFA curriculum for this 3 1/2 day conference focuses
on development of team's mission, team leadership, understanding
of agriculture, organizational issues, and presentation
skills. This conference involves five to seven state
FFA associations and is rotated annually in a given
region.
Latest Conference
State Presidents' Conference (SPC) SPC
is a weeklong leadership conference for two state officers
from each association held annually in Washington D.C.
This advanced leadership training builds on the first
two components of the state FFA officer leadership continuum.
The Nevada state president and vice president attend
the conference and interact with other leaders and learn
more about National FFA's delegate process. These young
leaders also tour many of America's monuments, as well
as meet with their state representatives and sometimes
even the President.
