GOVERNOR
GIBBONS ADDRESSES NEVADA FFA STUDENTS
Governor
Gibbons spoke to 33 FFA students from throughout Nevada,
at the Nevada Agricultural Youth Legislative Experience
on February 14. FFA is a national youth organization
associated with agriculture education.
The Governor discussed the importance of agriculture
to Nevada, the nation, and world. He stressed to the
students that they had an important job of educating
society about agriculture.
“All the
students were excited to meet the Governor,” said
Jenna Frey, state FFA reporter. “It was motivating
to hear his answers to the various leadership-based
questions students asked. We appreciate his support
of us and agriculture.”
Students arrived in Carson City on February
13, where they received training from the FFA state
officers about the legislative process, meeting with
legislators, and dining etiquette.
On February 14, the students applied their
skills when they met with legislators and the Governor
at breakfast in room 3100 of the legislative building.
They also met with several legislators in their offices.
The final event of the day was when the students observed
both the Senate and Assembly floor sessions.
