MOTHER, I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to do after graduating from high school, remarked a 15-year-old girl. If you are a parent or youth still in school, no doubt those words have a familiar ring.

Wisely, the mother of Deborah, the girl just mentioned, did not let that seemingly passing remark by her daughter end there. Realizing that the girl was serious, the mother suggested that they discuss the matter with her father that evening.

Federal Government Grants

The E-grants initiative was produced in 2002 as part of the President’s Fiscal Year Management Agenda. The purpose of this initiative was to enhance on the governments handling the enterprise of awarding grants to the public. From this, the web site grants dot gov was formed. Here, the public is granted access to over 1,000 federal grant programs from 26 lending agencies. In addition,there is approximately billion awarded in funding each year.

A federal government grant is not a benefit or entitlement. Nor is it considered to be a personal or business loan. Basically stated,federal government grants are financial awards for assistance to a public recipient. The recipient must be in the industry of carrying out services or support as deemed by the United States laws. In addition,federal grants could not be employed to acquire property or secure a service that offers direct benefit to the federal government.
