HOSA Veterinary Assisting 2010- Message from Randi Hunewill, DOE Health Science and Public Safety Consultant

It's that time of the year.  If your FFA members are interested in competing in the HOSA Veterinary Assisting competitive event I have attached some documents.  The contest will be on Tuesday, March 16th, at 8 a.m. at the Joe Crowley student union (UNR). The contest will be followed by an Awards Brunch.  The cost is $35.00 for that day only.  It includes registration, contest, t-shirt, meal and awards.  They are welcome to attend the entire conference of course.  Remember you must be signed up as a HOSA chapter and their curriculum fee must be paid by February 19, 2010 in order to be eligible.  Last years winner from Elko High School did very well at nationals and was recognized on stage as one of the national finalists.  Good Job Mr. Sutton!  The event will have a test, and two skills.  They can wear scrubs for the contest and the awards meal.  I have attached some documents to help with this process. Our website also has all this information www.nevadahosa.org.  Call me if you have any questions. Attached documents - Establishing a HOSA Chapter, Veterinary Assisting Rules, & State Leadership Conference Memo
